The Aesthetic Sense is home to a large number
of tallit designers, Israeli American, and Canadian, who work
in a variety of fabrics, designs and sizes. Styles range from
traditional stripes to whimsical painted scenes; fabrics from
machine made to hand woven silks, wools and cottons. Many
of our prayer shawls are hand made; some are one-of-a-kind;
all are designed to enhance your prayer experience.
Because of the wide variety of sizes, styles, and colors,
even among prayer shawls made by the same designer, it is

Mishkan Hatchelet
Crafted in the Land of Israel, these traditional tallitot
are made from the finest 100% virgin wool. They are available
in all sizes and an assortment of colors (including multi-color
“Joseph’s Coat”). Sizes range from 24”

Ruth Pasder
Ruth Pasder creates these beautiful and vividly colored silk
tallitot from her studio in Jerusalem. Using only the finest
silk fabric, Ruth hand paints various designs, including Jerusalem
scenes, floral and abstract designs. Sold as a set with a tallit
bag; some styles come with a kippa. Sizes range from 18”

Israeli Silk Artists
Crafted in the Land of Israel, these brightly colored tallitot
feature painted silk fabric applied on a base of white or
off white wool and polyester blend fabric. Both the atara
and the stripes are painted in a variety of themes, among
them Jerusalem scenes, depictions of the Twelve Tribes, and
floral and abstract designs. Sized from 18” x 72”

Yair Emanuel
Yair Emanuel designs these tallitot in his Jerusalem studio.
His designs combine the old and the new, the ethnic and the
modern. Emanuel creates his tallitot in many different ways:
with hand painted silk, appliquéd silk, and hand embroidery
using silk thread on natural cotton material. Designs vary
from traditional stripes in non-traditional colors and widths,
to Jerusalem scenes, lions of Judah, and scenes of our matriarchs
and other Jewish heroines. Sold as a set with a tallit bag;

Silk Bijoux
Crafted in the United States, these tallitot use the finest
silk tie dyed in deep and vibrant colors; the blessing is
silk screened on the atara. The all silk tallit features a
vivid Jerusalem scene. The newest design features the Twelve
Tribes painted on a silk band appliquéd on a soft,
textured white wool shawl. Sold as a set with a tallit bag;

Tallit Art
These hand-woven tallit, made from the finest light weight
quality wool and trim, are modern variations on the traditional
striped tallit. Available in blues, browns, blacks, burgundies

Gabrieli
Situated in Old Jaffa, Gabrieli Hand Weaving produces matched
sets of hand woven tallit, kippot and bags. A modern version
of the traditional tallit, Gabrieli’s are available

Shizre Kodesh
In her studio at Chutzot Hayozer within the shadows of the
Old City of Jerusalem, Carine Kleiman creates original hand
woven tallitot from the finest wool. Her unique technique
merges subtlety and precision. A variety of colors, textures
and patterns are combined in the exquisite proportions that
are the hallmark of superb craftsmanship. Sold as a set with

Canaan Gallery
From her studio in the artists’ colony of Safed, in
the hills of Israel, Orna Moor designs tallitot hand woven
from the fines cotton fibers. Her unique designs, colors and
textures reflect the history of Safed as a mystical city and
a renowned center of high quality weaving by the kings of
the surrounding lands. Sold as a set with tallit bag; kippot

Eretz
From her studio on a moshav in the Negev Desert, designer
Efrat Schwartz produces Judaica which is fashionable and elegant,
reflecting a new and different approach to the traditional
tallit. Her designs are inspired by the colors and lights
of Israel, archaeological findings, and Judaica themes reflecting
the diaspora through the ages. The tallitot come in silk (including
transparent silk and raw silk), wool, cotton or viscose, in
styles suitable for men and women, and can be made with the
blessing on the atara and with fringe as requested. Sold as

Galilee Silks
Situated in a tranquil corner of Northern Israel, Galilee
Silks specializes in the hand-dying of raw white silk. Their
distinctive range of tallitot, which can be on a silk base
or a wool base, incorporates traditional motifs in a wide

Reeva’s ‘Ritings with Ruach
Crafted in the United States by renowned Judaic textile artist
Reeva, these hand made designs are at once soft, beautiful
and spiritual. Using the finest silk fabric as the base and
for the fringe, Reeva appliqués unique designs and
traditional yet contemporary striping. Her ataras are hand
painted with the blessing. Smaller sizes are tailored to drape

tallitot are distinct in their use of modern and colorful

From her studio in Hawaii, Israeli textile artist Sharona
creates hand silk screened tallitot. Her inspiration is spiritual
– her designs include Fringes of Life and Genesis. Available
